Day 2 - Visit to Vika & Adoption Lawyers...
First, Mom (Jane), Lisa, & Jonathan left this morning around 8:30am to visit Vika at the orphanage. It was a 3 hour train ride & travel time to the train. They could only visit with Vika for about an hour due to orphanage rules. But it was a good visit! Vika was excited to see them and seems to be doing well. This orphanage is far better than the one she grew up in. They returned around 5:30pm.
Second, Dad (John) & Johnny stayed with Gabi & Sophia in the morning and then got a young girl from one of the team missionaries to babysit for the afternoon. Dad & Johnny had a meeting with the adoption lawyers. We submitted some documents and talked about the interview process with the child department that will occur tomorrow morning at 10am. Most of our conversation consisted of what we should communicate in the interview.
But we did inquire how long they thought it would take for the adoption process, and well... we were a little surprised. The lawyers said it may take a month before we can even get our court date, and then it could take another month before we could bring Vika home. Yikes!
Of course, there maybe ways to make it go faster and certainly we are trusting in God for his timing. We obviously need to simply take this day by day as things are always changing around here. We certainly appreciate your prayers!
Matt 6:34 - “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
